DIY Living Room Transformation - One Room Challenge: Week 4
I can’t believe we’re halfway through the ORC already. October clearly has somewhere to be! Here’s what I’ve shared so far:
Week 2 - Design Concept & Sourcing
Week 3 - Space Plan & Sectional Delivery (scroll to the bottom of the page)
Paint
This week (and likely week 5) is all about paint.
I’ve narrowed down my green-ish paint choices to SW Evergreen Fog and SW Escape Gray. I’ve swatched both options on the walls to see how it looks in our south facing window living room during various times of the day. Evergreen Fog is just a tad lighter than an olive green while Escape Gray is truly more gray.
If you didn’t know, all factors within a space affect how paint color looks in space with the most impactful one being lighting, both natural and electrical. I swatched both colors on all walls in living room area and observed them in the morning, afternoon and night with lights on and off. In the below photo, Escape Gray is on the left and Evergreen Fog is on the right and Evergreen Fog is the clear winner. I can tell that it’s green without it being too dark while Escape Gray not quite the right tone for the look I want.
See this week’s Reel & Tik Tok, where I’m giving tips on how to choose a paint color from all of those paint chips you picked out 👀
The rug, which I’m expecting to deliver during week 6🤞🏾, is going to be the pièce de résistance for this project. It has shades of blue and green which tie this whole look together. Without it, I probably would have chosen a different wall color altogether.
